Finally, after a 10 hour flight and a connection in London I arrived in Madrid around 4pm. My school director has picked me up and drove me to my new home! It’s located next to the Plaza De Espana overlooking a large park. It’s a beautiful home! I get my own room and share a bathroom with my friend Sara, and my host mom is a lovely woman named Elisa. Once I got home, I dropped off my luggage and met with the entire study abroad students in Plaza Del Sol and had lunch. Yes, lunch. In Spain, they typically have a cup of coffee for breakfast early in the morning, lunch around 3-5pm and dinner isn’t served till after 9pm. This is something I fear, I will never get used to. After lunch our entire crew was taken on a small city tour on a gray hound bus. This city truly comes to life at night. Madrid revolves around night life, bars, and night clubs, and the fun doesn’t begin till after 11pm and last till 5am. So many beautiful things were seen tonight, and this was only the beginning. WARNING! I go a little picture crazy. =]
